Shelbie Vermette-Grant is a Photo Director, Art Buyer, and Creative Consultant whose passion for photography and extensive experience allow her the opportunity to work with a growing list of top national clients including Maclean's Magazine, Sportsnet Magazine, Report on Business Magazine, Precedent Magazine, Canadian Business Magazine, Edelman, Toronto Public Library, AP/INVISION, Star Content Studios, Doug and Serge, among others.

Previously, the Director of Photography at The Grid, Toronto’s premiere street-level weekly named the World’s Best Designed Newspaper by the Society of News Design for three consecutive years.  As a founding member of the team, Shelbie joined The Grid prior to it’s first issue in May of 2011.  In this role she produced award winning content with a network of over 100 photographers, of all career stages, to create an access driven visual aesthetic for the publication that offered an experiential photographic approach connecting the reader to the subject matter.  Her work has received accolades from The National Magazine Awards, The Society of News Design, The Society of Publication Design, and the Design & Art Director’s Club, to name a few.

A passionate believer in education and fostering emerging talent, Shelbie is a regular guest lecturer and portfolio reviewer for a variety of institutions including Scotiabank Contact Photography Festival, Ryerson University, OCADU, the Canadian University Press, as well as other private educational programs.
